About
This blog was created to share motivation, creativity, excitement and support for better living. We intend to take better care of ourselves and each other.
Jenn was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol in December 2007. In addition to her ongoing goal of losing weight and becoming more fit, getting the diabetes and cholesterol under control is a top priority. She doesn’t want to have to take all sorts of pills long term – so diet and exercise it is! Jenn lost about 30 lbs. in 2007 and is looking forward to at least 30 more in 2008.
Cbasty was on her way to the fittest she’d ever been when a double abscess in an old root canal derailed her fitness regime. Having to be on heavy doses of antibiotics and have oral surgery resulted in total lack of energy and the breaking of all sorts of hard won good habits. Her goal is to lose the pounds she put on during this hiatus from health (and the poorly timed holiday food onslaught) and redevelop muscle tone and definition. As an asthmatic, she hopes to improve lung capacity, boost her immune system, and be overall healthier. Part of this plan involves revamping her vegan diet to focus on more balanced meals in smaller portions spread throughout the day (go metabolism boost!) and a dramatic increase in physical activity.
Janine (pleasebabyplease) used to have a killer bod while living an entirely unhealthy existence. Once she fell preggo with her first baby, she decided that a healthy lifestyle was crucial for the well being of her family. Still, despite her best attempts she’s fallen off of the candy/soda/chips wagon too many times to count, but is now ready (finally!) to make a permanent change, shed the last of her baby weight, and set a “fitness is fun” example for her little family. Also, a recent victim of painful lactose intolerance, she is making the effort to incorporate more vegan dishes into her otherwise vegetarian culinary repertoire. She’s got 18 lbs to lose and a lifetime of healthy eating and exercise to look forward to.
